Tom Benson

CEO

Tom Benson is CEO and Founder of Mitrix. He is a serial entrepreneur and scientist who founded 4 successful software, hardware, and science startups including Timepoint Corporation, Readybot, and Scott Systems.

He created some of the first machine learning and optimization algorithms for factory optimization, which were adopted at facilities across the US and Europe, and has extensive experience in acquisitions, negotiations, finance, project management, and marketing, all with a deep technology focus.

He was also a manager at the groundbreaking Linac Coherent Light Source (LCLS) femtosecond free-electron laser at Stanford Linear Accelerator National Laboratory (SLAC), where he gained interest in the imaging of mitochondria via x-ray crystallography and Cryo-EM. This work led him to explore the recent fundamental advancements in the scientific understanding of mitochondrial systems of the body.

He has published dozens of articles and video lectures on mitochondrial science and cellular energetics, developing original theories on the systemic transfer and distribution of mitochondria within higher organisms and the resulting impact on health and lifespan of species.
